October 16, 2014 Greetings To Our ALP Student Supporters, We hope this newsletter finds you well. We would like to thank everyone that was able to drop by for our open house last Tuesday or conferences last Thursday. It was a great pleasure to show you what the students have accomplished so far this year. Remember you are welcome anytime to stop by or set up a time to talk about your students progress. (Click "Read More" on the bottom right to see the rest of this newsletter.) >>>> Since our last update, we were able to go out to Changing Gaits horse ranch. The weather was not cooperative that day but we were able to get everyone on horseback for a little ride in the indoor arena. Thank you Dorothy Nolan for helping chaperon the event. We are going to try again in two weeks to get out there for a trail ride and some life skills exercises with horses. If you would like to join us please feel free, it would be great to have you along.
We also had the opportunity to have some of the students take part in the high school homecoming parade. Although the weather was a little damp, I think those that rode in the cart had a great time. Thank you Roberta Benjamin for the candy the students threw along the parade route. Coming Events: Oct 24th Back to the Audubon Center for an Orienteering course (navigating in the woods) and other activities. Oct 30th We are back to Changing Gaits. For those with students under 18 I have included the Audubon Center release form that will be needed for the 24th. Finally, we have worked out a form to show you the progress to date for your student. This is a new form and we have made it for your use. That said, any suggestions to make it more understandable to you, would be greatly appreciated. As always, we encourage your continued support of the students in their efforts to make it to class on time every day and meet their academic goals. Thank you Mr. Brad Jensen HFHS Alternative Learning Program Mrs. Valerie Kunze (320) 384- 6132 ext. 2003
