Thank you for a great year of learning….
We are interested in your feedback so please let us know how the year went for you. Greetings To Our Empower Learner Supporters, Thank you all for your support to our learners and the Empower program. It is hard to believe that 37 short weeks ago, we were welcoming many of you into our community of learners. We hope that you and your learner found value in your experiences with the Empower program. As you have come to realize Empower is not a set in its ways program, and we are continually seeking feedback to improve the learning opportunities we offer our learners. So please let us know the Good, Bad, and Ugly in your dealing with Empower so we can continually improve. There are so many accomplishments this year at Empower. One of our proudest is the largest graduating class to date for Empower. Congratulations go out to the families and friends of Marlana, Tyler, Cody, Russ, Jordan, Page, Kendra, and Dylan for your encouragement and support. Greetings To Our Empower Learner Supporters,
Hello to all our learners, families and supporters out there. Can you believe we are already a quarter of the way through the school year? I know for many of the learners and staff here the year is really moving fast. We want to give a big thank you to all of those that stopped in for conferences and take part in the Hot Dog and Chilli night. If you did not have a chance to come in for conferences, remember, you can always stop in the ELC or give us a call. We would be happy to talk about your learner. Our next big family event is the annual Christmas Tea the learners of the ELC will host on Dec 20th at noon. The Tea is always a great event for our families to kick-off the holiday break. Although it was a rare last two weeks with no out of building activities, many of our learners remained busy. Janelle from CMJTS visited with a few of our students to complete applications for the Youth Build program. this program provides an opportunity for learners to earn money while gaining work experience while serving our greater communities. It is not too late to sign up if you have a learner interested. Many of our learners also took part in researching political parties that align with their values and after that took part in a mock election. Almost every office had a very close or tied outcome. Many of our learners found they have the same ideas about government as some very obscure but actual political parties. Finally, this week we hosted Justine from WINDOW, who had a great interactive presentation on health and safe dating and relationships. It was interesting to see our learners so engaged with the presentation and provided Justine some excellent insight for her to use in future presentations. Coming Events: Remember all events are updated on our website. Nov 2nd Finlayson-Giese Lions Huntsman’s Dinner (any help would be appreciated) Nov 5th No School - Deer Day Nov 6th Trip to the 49er’s Training Facility Nov 16th PTCC Hosting a Career Day Nov 20th Thanksgiving Feast Nov 21-23rd Thanksgiving Break HELP THE ELC. If you purchase milk from Kwik Trip, please send in your bottle tops or bag tops. The ELC is in the process of collecting them to fund some of our projects and trips. Each one is worth 5 cents, and they are adding up fast. Thank you to those who bring them in. |
