Empower Newsletter 22 Sept
Greetings and Welcome Back To Our Empower Learner Supporters, And so we begin another school year that has started like no other. First off, a big shout out to all those parents, guardians, and adult learners who have shown a great deal of understanding and support as we start the year in a hybrid/distance learning structure at Empower. Your eagerness to assist your learner has helped us begin the year, providing the best learning opportunity. Your continued support will be needed as we continue to improve as we move through the year. We are happy to see that many of our learners have hit the ground running and are eagerly working toward their learning goals. All of our learners have worked with us to set up subjects to study and are on pace with those goals, as you will see in the accompanying progress reports. We have even had time to do some interesting things like getting out of the building to pick apples from the Empower orchard. In the next few weeks, we will be pressing apple cider. We also wanted to give a quick reminder of attendance requirements for our hybrid and distance learners. Hybrid: Empowers learners will report to the Empower building on their two designated in-person days each week. On remote days, the expectation is a total of 15 hours of remote study each week or at least 0.12 credits of work. Schoolwork is tracked using a learner’s weekly activities log and course work. It is recommended parents/guardians monitor learner’s attendance. Distance learning: All students are required to log in to each of their classes daily. The expectation is that a student work 25 hours a week or complete at least 0.16 credits of work. It is recommended parents monitor their learner’s attendance. Stay Safe, Stay Strong, and Stay in touch…..
