Every holiday season we close out the year with a Christmas Tea before heading off to Winter Break. The students plan the menu, choose recipes, prepare the meal, and decorate. Friends and Family are always invited and we finish the party with a friendly competition of Reindeer Games. Every year the party is a blast and this year was no different. THANK YOU to everyone who made it out!! We very much enjoyed your company and participation and hope you had as much fun as we did! Visitors from Pine Tech came to our school today to talk to us about some of the programs they offer related to technology. They talked about an exciting project in development for building a racing simulator. We were also able to hear more about what the VEX Robotics competition is, what our responsibilities are, see Pine Tech's robot, and receive some help for our own robot. Watch this video to see the VEX Competition Objective for this year.
Today we were able to take a trip with the HFHS Transitions Class to Chuckers Bowling in Rush City. Once again we were graced by the presence of Paul & Larraine Mickelson to continue our work with Restorative Practices. Today's activity focused on what it feels like when you harm someone, what it feels like when you repair the harm caused, and how to get from one to the other. We created posters to depict each category and then followed up with a discussion about them. Some really great posters were created; we have a group of deep and creative thinkers!
