As we walked to the park today for our Silent Sustained Reading time, we noticed that the door to what could potentially be the new home to the ALP was open. We asked to peek inside and were greeted by a very friendly Paramedic and EMT team who gave us a tour of the building. The students were able to engage in conversation about what they would like to see in an ALP building, what would be conducive to their learning, and ideas about decorating and starting a shop class. We even got to see a MRV, which made the gear-heads of the group pretty happy. Afterwards, we were given an impromptu presentation about becoming and EMT or Paramedic, and an ambulance tour/presentation. Thank you to Essentia Health! Your team was so great! The students were able to learn firsthand about a local career path available to them and have their questions answered. What a fun, random afternoon!
